Meet Mrs. Peabody!  She is an 8 year old, 18 lb, female spayed Cocker Spaniel mix.

Mrs Peabody is in rescue (Fairy Tails Rescue) because her owner passed away. She is very shy and timid at first and she will not allow you to pick her up until she gets to know you better. Once she sees you as her person she is a very sweet little girl and will follow you everywhere. She is very devoted to her humans!

She is good with dogs of all sizes (but is not looking for a playmate) and could care less about cats. We have not seen her around children but because of her trust issues we feel a home without children is best.

Mrs. Peabody is house broken and rides nicely in the car. She takes treats gently and has no food aggression issues. Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share. We received the results of Mrs. Peabody's blood work and she has been diagnosed with early stage kidney failure. Our veterinarian believes that she is not a good candidate for anesthesia, so she will not be able to have the surgery to remove the tumor from her hind end or to have her dental cleaning/work that she needs. The vet feels the tumor is unlikely to be cancerous and it doesn't seem to bother her at all.

For now, the vet has prescribed her some special food to best support her kidneys and we will continue to make her days (however long that may or may not be) as comfortable and happy as possible. Mrs. Peabody will require regular grooming, which will be an added expense for any adopter, but be warned Mrs. Peabody does not tolerate her feet being touched and does not like being groomed. so she requires medication in order to be groomed, which will also be an added cost as well.

She is adorable but she is not for every family and we will be choosey as to where she goes. We would like her to stay within approximately 100 miles of the rescue.  We will not put our pets on transportation companies. All potential adopters must complete a meet and greet with all members of the family, including any pets prior to adoption. Adoptions do need to be finalized with in Maine borders.

If you are interested in adopting this sweet little so she can live out her days with her very own family, please fill out an application on our website at fairytails-rescue.weebly.com. For more information about Mrs. Peabody, please email: Fairytails04217@gmail.com or visit us on facebook at facebook.com/fairytails-rescueme
